Hello, and welcome to Mirannes.com, a website dedicated to the Miranne families across the globe.

My name is Paul G. Miranne, and I am a fourth generation descendant of our common American progenitor, Jean Casimir Miranne, who came to New Orleans in 1838 from Bordeaux, France.

Some time ago, I remember telling someone that all of the Mirannes in the United States were related to each other.  The individual laughed at me as if I was making a joke, but I was absolutely serious.  Give or take an occasional visitor to the states (I know of only one), all Mirannes in the United States are related.

This website is in its infancy, so it will not contain the full range of features that I hope will eventually exist.  After a while (time permitting), I'll be soliciting for ideas on what sort of content everyone would like to see, but in the beginning, content will naturally begin with Casimir and branch out from his family.  As a multi-lingual website (eventually), my hope is that the site will allow Mirannes from across the globe to know more about each other and their origins and hopefully get to know each other a little better.
